Diamond Microdermabrassion

Diamond application for skin cleansing

Microdermabrasion is one of the most modern methods available to Cosmetic Dermatology for skin rejuvenation.
Diamond Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive therapy and in combination with other applications it is indicated for people of all ages.
Through a perfectly controlled deep cleansing of the skin from the dead cells, the skin is stimulated, becomes smoother and is rejuvenated.

Diamond Microdermabrassion  is actually a preventive regenerative treatment, which combats skin aging, offering shine and natural renewal.

The outer stratum corneum of the skin is removed with the aid of the special head of the device, which consists of a cylinder made of stainless steel on which specially processed diamonds are attached. During treatment, dead cells which make the skin look dull and damaged are removed, while shrinkage of dilated pores is also achieved and the skin becomes smooth and bright, without the risk of microcrystals’ ejection as in the classic method of microdermabrasion.
More specifically, treatment is indicated for thin lines and wrinkles, acne scars, black and white spots, skin discolourations and macules or spots from sun exposure. It is also indicated for the improvement of skin texture.
Treatment mobilises cells responsible for the regeneration of fibroblasts so that to produce collagen and elastin, activating the natural healing process of the body. At the same time increased blood levels are also achieved in the area being treated due to the minor injuries, further enhancing skin regeneration.
It can be applied throughout the face, as well as on the neck and the neckline.
Microdermabrassion is painless and it is indicated for all skin types throughout the year.
Micro-injury of the skin due to the diamond heads is only affecting the outer skin layers and thus it is not necessary to apply any topical anaesthetic cream.
The number of treatment sessions that is usually suggested is between 2 and 4 and they are performed with an interval of one month.
Given the fact that skin is a really strong tissue that can be easily destroyed, to keep it in good shape, diamond microdermabrassion can be repeated every 3 – 4 months. Repeat treatment helps in tissue restoration as well as to keep a healthy, shiny and smooth skin.
Diamond Microdermabration Therapy in combination with other face treatments results in more long-term effects and it is indicated in most cases.
